Notes

Team is in the process of creating a low cost 2D imager, would like feedback on keeping the following interfaces:  KBW and IBM:

  • All customers moved to USB in Germany (Jurgen)
  • Same in Italy
  • Same in Netherlands
  • India, no KBW used, 90% on USB
  • Not seeing those interfaces in NA, only legacy customers, but changing (Bob S.)
  • One POS customer asking (intermittently) about IBM (Keith)

The only problem may be – existing customers not moving to new hw, but some existing IBM units have also USB connectivity.

POS, idea of having a cradle with the KBW/IBM interface?

  • IBM has a cable we can use, 90% of the cost is on the cable
  • KBM has a bigger impact on the cost.

Overall, these interfaces are not needed, but should check sales on IBM cable to be sure.

Question for SEs about contactless charging:

  • Are there any battery contactless charging devices out there on the field?
  • There is information on Honeywell, Amanda/Chuck will send to Larry to post on LP . Action

Rhino Cables:

  • Older cables may work, but not recommended
  • Sealing grading and current draw are different
  • Cables are not backwards compatible, they will not fit
  • If using older cables, need to tight it up with a paper or something, so it does not get disconnected.

Amanda sent videos on competitive information, will re-send to Larry- to post on LP Action

Rhino demo units (internal only) are available. Will be distributed as needed. Contact your RPM.

Forklift power supplies:

  • What are the high/low voltages used?
  • High (18-75), low (9-30) (Keith Bosse)
  • Most 48v used, 70+v in Germany
  • VC80 power supplies available that will support 48-v, may need one that covers 12-48v
  • Most forklifts are 36v and up
  • Propane trucks have 12v
  • Forklifts have power supplies in increments of 12: 12,24,36

DS8178 Beta:

  • Questions on LP but no reply !
  • Larry to follow up with Ron E. Action
