On the product page MC40 Mobile Computer Support & Downloads | Zebra the MC40 Integrator Guide has instructions on how to perform a factory reset. Performing a reset will wipe the device and restore it to a factory new state. This will remove any data on the device, but it should remove the password lock as well.
