Hello,

I cannot get the RS6000 USB driver to load on my PC so that I may do a firmware update. I followed the steps in the firmware guide but to no avail. I also cannot get the RS6000 in program mode to try use the DAT server. Is there another way of putting it in program mode?

Kind regards,

Dan

Hi Dan,

As Paul mentioned, the timing of the key press at boot up needs to be very quick to get into programming mode.

So to reiterate the steps in the guide:
1. Connect the RS to the PC via USB programming cable.
2. Press and hold down the restore key for 3 seconds.
3. Release and IMMEDIATELY repress and hold the restore key.
4. The LED will turn on solid red if it is programming mode.

For step 3 above, instead of removing your finger from the button, I suggest just lightly removing finger pressure from the button and the repressing again as quickly as possible.

Hi Dan,

Another option to upgrade the firmware on the RS6000 is to use 123Scan2 - with the appropriate plug-in.

Hi Dan,

The tricky part I had in putting the RS6000 into programming mode was the double press or release and press had to be immediate.  It had to be almost no delay at all.  Maybe give it another try.
