Here's some additional items I've been staging on my VC80 beta units:

Configure power button to cause unit to Sleep instead of Shut Down.  If you don't do this, accidental bumps of this button get annoying real fast!
Add shortcut to VC Control Panel application to Start menu.  I noticed that Control Panel v4.2 adds a shortcut to Administrative menu, but it's nice to have on Start menu for quick access also.
Configure device to support BT scanner so you can quickly scan the VC80's pairing barcode and start using the scanner.

Go into BT setting and add an Incoming COM port.  On my devices this creates COM3
Go into TekWedge and enable support for Serial Scanners
Go into TekWedge and enable support for COM3 (or whatever COM port the Incoming BT COM port was assigned to)
Make sure your scanner is in BT serial port Master Mode
