Hello team, A partner of ours is developing a plugin (they call it driver) for the accounting software called "1C" ( de-facto standard in Russia) which will allow it to work with barcode scanners. They want to be it free for Symbol scanners but not for others (yesss!). They are looking for a way to distinguish between Symbols and not Symbols. They've found some low-level chatting which our scanners do with Windows keyboard driver when in KBW or USB HID mode - which they claim is unique, well at least different from Metrologic and other devices they were able to test. They're still struggling with RS232 mode as it seems there is nothing "hidden there" - it just sends the data. Questions: 1. Is there any more or less standard and more or less official way to "tie" a PC application to our scanners connected with USB, KBW or RS232? 2. What about RSM? Can it be used for this purpose and how? Do we have a toolkit for PC? The problem (one of) is that not all our scanners (at least not ls2208 which is our bestseller) support RSM. 3. We have also SSI and SNAPI (for rs232 and USB respectively) - but again not all scanners support this (same 2208 does not) Any suggestions or ideas? Maybe someone had already this kind of requests?
