Hi , we want to make 4 switchs to one cluster.  Include RFS7000(256 licenses),RFS7000(0 license),RFS6000(12 licenses),RFS6000(12 licenses). Each switch covers different site, except RFS7000(0 license) is backup of the others. Two project, 1.Make all switchs to primary mode, Any ways to define Aps adoption priority ?  we don't want to use "load balance" to distribute the APs. 2.Make all switchs to primary mode, except RFS7000(0 license) is standby mode. All others switch will direct to this switch for backup. So pls give me one suggestion which project is better. thanks!! sunzhiguo

Hi, If we want to make RFS7000(256license) and RFS7000(0 license) to one cluster, Can we distribut the license freely, for example: 100license to One RFS7000, and 156 license to the other? Thanks! sunzhiguo

Not exactly. You would set up the cluster with license pool of "256" , so each switches' "Adoption Capacity" will be 256 they will just use the necessary amount of AP licenses from this pool. This doc contains Excellent explanation on how licenses are managed - I highly recommend it! http://compass.mot.com/doc/307938623/WiNG_How_To_-_Licensing.pdf http://compass.mot.com/cgi/fetch/283867744/guides.html

Start with slide 61. It will walk you through establishing the cluster and then explain AP steering. AP Steering will allow you to configure which APs will be adopted by what switch.
