We have experienced some features/components shut down (on a MC7004 WM5.0), when the battery level reaches a certain low point. Do you have any documentation, we can get, on what happens exactly to which components and in which order? More specifically the GPRS and Bluetooth connection; what happens to them, when the main battery runs low?

Tier2 knows that GPRS-GSM radio can shutdown if main battery is lower then 11% or 22% depending on used batttery, but we would like to know something more specifics.Sub question1 : Can we in any way configure the PDA so we have total control over which components (and in which order) we want to shut down, and not just let the PDA control it from a default shut-down scheme?

Sub question2 : Do you also have documentation that indicates what happens, when the battery level rises again. Do the affected components turn back on automatically – and in which order. We have experienced the PDA turns the phone off, but it doesn’t turn it back on, when the power is restored.
Tier2 knows that GSM will stay off if it was turned off in a low battery state and device was later going into a low battery shutdown. Is there some were stored reason why GSM was powered down in registry ?

Customer's Question:  the only subsystem that will actively turn itself off is the WAN radio.  The specific threshold is approximately 11%.  Please note that this threshold could be reached while the terminal is suspended.  The WAN module itself monitors the voltage and will turn itself off independently of the host system.  Keep in mind that the instantaneous voltage on the battery is dependent upon the current draw.  So, even if the voltage drops below 11% and the modem turns off, the voltage could raise above this threshold because the modem has turned off. Subquestion 1: No. Sub-question 2: Once the WAN radio has turned off, the user must manually turn it back on.

thnx George, about sub question 2 Motorola EMB devices with seperate GSM modules seem to have this specifice behavior, that GSM will stay powered off when a full battery is inserted or on AC charge. ( HC700 or other WM6 devices ( HTC ) dont see this ) Is there any way to have a message displayed or have this behavior changed. guess the answer will be GRIP or CRP but i will just try here.

A GRIP is probably the best route to take.  Marketing reviews the GRIPs to decide if the requested functionality should be added to existing or future products.  ECRT doesn't have any involvement in the decision making process.
