Slow Data Input on HID

Slow data transmission via HID input (USB, Bluetooth or Serial) is caused by a WM6.1 OS setting. As WM6.1 is shipped on our devices the setting for Word Completion is enabled by default. With WM6.1 Word Completion is applied to any HID input so if you are using any form of HID input, scanner, keyboard, or USB input word completion is applied to the data input (regardless of the application you are sending the data to)  thus slowing transmission rate of data overtime.

Interestingly, on WM5.0 this setting is also on by default, however the word completion function does not effect data coming in via external HID (except into MS Office)We have seen this and tested on  MC70(WM6.1), MC75, MC55, VC6096 & CK3.

Just as a clarification, the rate of the data transmission was not actually affected in any way.  However since the word completion option affected the update rate in Word, Excel, and an application that was written to test this problem, it was perceived that the data was slowing down.
