Developer Portal - What's New for March
Some of you may have noticed the new look of the Zebra Developer Portal. I hope this is a refreshing change for everyone. We didn’t just change the way the site looks though. We made a major change in how we are organizing the content of the site. Anyone who asked questions on the portal before would have seen that each space had it’s own forum area for discussions. This was fine when there were not a lot of products represented, but as the site grew, we found there were difficulties in users asking questions in spaces where the right people were not monitoring them. There was also confusion as to the right place to ask multi-product questions. To fix this and streamline the site, we have centralized the forums.
This does mean a few major changes to the way we recommend people ask questions. Notably, all questions need to be tagged now in order to get the right attention. Some other recommendations can be found here. Also, if you want to follow a topic and be notified when someone posts something new about your favorite Zebra tools, there is a new procedure for that as well.

Honestly I preferred the old forum, so much so that I've stopped using this one entirely which is why my posting has dropped to nil since the change.
I'm interested in Zebra Card printers but looking for printers results in finding vastly more stuff about label printers. In the past I've answered, or attempted to atleast, peoples questions about ZXP card printers but now if they haven't tagged it correctly probably because they're a first time user then I won't see it at all either because the title of the post doesn't relate to ZXP Card printers or it's just tagged printer or the thousand other tags that are available for that subject.
Hi Stephen, First I want to say thank you for supporting the portal. Your responses have been useful and I'm sure those who've gotten your help were grateful (as were we).
I'm concerned that you are having a hard time with finding the card printer issues. I took a look and it does not look like there have been any new questions come in in the 3 weeks since we cut over, but that won't last. I agree that it is difficult to find old card printer support questions and for new users to know what to tag new questions. The tagging especially is a pervasive issue now, and we're working on it for precisely the reason you noted. We are looking into methods for how to both encourage good tag use and clean up the old, non-useful tags.
If we were to add a space within the discussions for card printer questions (similar to the old setup) so that it would be easier to find card printer discussions, would that alleviate at least some of your frustration?
