Print to ZD420 with TC20 with Xamarin_LinkOS_Developer_Demo: can't find printer

Hello,

I used both a TC20 and a Nexus 5x with the PlayStore Zebra Printer Setup. Both pair and print the sample label via Bluetooth, so I guess everything's ok on the hardware side.
Then I run Xamarin_LinkOS_Developer_Demo, on both devices. I press the Select Printer button, wait during "Discovering Bluetooth Printers" until it displays "Discovery Finished", without any printer discovered.

Can you give me some hints on what's wrong with the sample?

UPDATE

I've found in the SDK also the compiled APK of the sample ready to install, and it doesn't work too, so is not a compilation problem.
Any hint on what's wrong?

Thanks,
Mattia

Hello Robin,

is there any other path I could follow to solve this issue?
I'm using two Zebra devices (printer and mobile computer), and both works with the PlayStore Zebra app.
But if I install the demo sample (already compiled in the SDK) it doesn't work. Any idea on how to debug the sample?
I tried but the enumerate function of the sdk just returns nothing.

Thanks,
Mattia

Hi Mattia,
The demo APK is discovering printers fine on my Zebra TC51 running Android 7.1.2 and Samsung S8 running Android 7.0.  Which version of Android are you running?

Another thing to check is the Xamarin app is not updated for BTLE yet but Printer Setup is.  Is your printer running in BTLE only mode?  You should be able to check and change in the Setup app.

Hi Robin,

I used a Zebra TC20  with Android 7.1.2 and a Nexus 5x with Android 8.1, the printer is a ZD420.
I printed the configuration, Bluetooth firmware is 1.4.0.0

I ran the Zebra Setup Utilities from my PC to check configuration, and it was "Classic & Low Energy".
I changed to "Classic only", just to check, and reconfigured the printer, but still the LinkOS demo is not discovering any printer.

Can you suggest anything else I can do?

Thanks,
Mattia
